Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) has a three-part video series on Portland’s brownstone quarry including a segment about Brownstone Exploration & Discovery Park.

Along with an awesome overview of the activities now available at Brownstone Park, Paul Smith takes the time to interview Sean Hayes, managing director of the park to discuss the park’s mission, ensuring “every kid leaves this park exhausted at the end of the day”.

CPTV also interviewed Mike Meehan, president and owner of Portland Brownstone Quarries Inc. Meehan is the last remaining brownstone cutter in the area and shows us how the large blocks of brownstone are cut and formed into slabs.

In the third segment, Smith interviews Robert McDougall about the history of the quarries.
